Get Ready for Your Favourite Artist’s Ticket Sale
Get ready for the ticket sale
Follow these tips before tickets go on sale:
1. Stay up to date
Make sure you’re always up to date with the latest news from your favourite artist. One way to do that is by signing up for our newsletters! You can easily subscribe via your account. One little tick is all it takes to stay in the loop 😉.
Is your favourite artist coming to town? Check the artist’s or event organiser’s website to find out whether there’s a presale. More and more artists and organisers are giving selected groups of fans the opportunity to access tickets before the general sale begins.
It’s also a good idea to find out as much as possible about the event and ticket sale beforehand. We keep our followers updated with the hottest concert news across our social channels. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok! You can also find plenty of useful information in the FAQ section of our website.
2. Check your Ticketmaster account
Before tickets go on sale, check that your Ticketmaster account is complete and that your payment details, email address and phone number are correct.
Don’t have an account yet? Create one in advance — it only takes a minute, and you’ll need it to book your tickets.
You may also need to verify your email address and phone number. If so, you’ll receive instructions on how to complete the process using a one-time code.
3. Check your card details
To make sure the checkout process goes as smoothly as possible, check beforehand that your debit or credit card details are up to date. Be sure to check the expiry date of the card you plan to use as well.
It’s also worth checking for anything else that could delay your purchase, such as a spending limit on your credit card.
Checklist for the day tickets go on sale
The big day is finally here! Here are some more useful tips for the day tickets go on sale.
Keep your phone handy
For security reasons, we may ask you to verify your account using a code sent to you by SMS before you can join the queue. Keep your phone handy so you can receive this one-time code — even if you’re booking your tickets on a desktop computer.
Avoid public Wi-Fi
The most reliable way to buy tickets is through a secure internet connection or your phone’s mobile network. Avoid public Wi-Fi where possible. These connections aren’t always secure and can sometimes be unreliable.
You should also disable VPNs or other tools that may hide your IP address. Your unique IP address helps us know that you’re not a bot!
Wait for It…
For high-demand sales that use both a waiting room and a queue, the waiting room usually opens 15 minutes before the sale begins. Visiting the ticket page earlier won’t give you a better position in the queue.
Once the queue opens, we’ll tell you exactly where you are in line, so you’ll know how many fans are ahead of you waiting to book tickets.
Our favourite number is 1
Make sure you only join the queue using 1 device, 1 browser and 1 tab. Trying to join from another device using the same account details may result in an error message.
You can book tickets for different dates, but you only need to join the queue once for the event you want to attend.
No AI, please 🚫 🤖
As Daft Punk once put it, we want you to be ‘human after all’. So please don’t use AI bots or other browser extensions to manipulate the ticket sale.
Ticket limit
Most shows have a limit on the number of tickets you can purchase. You can find the ticket limit on the event page by clicking the ‘Info’ button (or the ‘i’ when viewing the page on your phone).
Keep in mind that you’ll also have a limited amount of time to complete your purchase and that ticket availability can change quickly for high-demand events.
Don’t refresh
Once you’ve added your tickets to your basket, don’t refresh your browser or close the tab. This will help you avoid potential issues with your ticket booking.
What to expect after buying your tickets
You’ve got your tickets: yaaay! 😊 Here’s what you can expect now that you’ve completed your purchase.
Accessing your tickets
Make sure your mobile tickets are ready for the day of your event. Download the Ticketmaster app, log in to your account and go to ‘My Tickets’ to view your tickets. You can also add your tickets to the wallet on your smartphone.
On the day of the event, simply have your tickets scanned directly from the Ticketmaster app or your wallet — and you’re in!
Sharing is Caring
Going to a show with a group and you’re the one who bought the tickets? Give yourself a round of applause, Ticket Master!
Use the ‘Transfer Tickets’ feature in the app or your browser to send individual tickets to your friends. This can help everyone get into the venue faster, leaving you with more time to enjoy that magical live experience. Find out more about transferring tickets here.
Have your plans changed?
Sometimes you just can’t make it — even if you were really looking forward to the event. Luckily, reselling your tickets is easy.
If the artist has enabled the ‘Sell Tickets’ feature for your event, you can resell your tickets to other fans in just a few clicks. Find out more about how to resell your tickets here.
